Project Description:
I am writing methods in Rosetta for modeling conformational heterogeneity using sparse EPR spectroscopy data. EPR measures nanometer-scale distances under equilibrium conditions, and can be used to monitor conformational changes in protein structures. I am applying these methods to membrane transporter proteins with two goals in mind. First, I would like to improve our understanding of substrate-dependent alternating access. Second, I would like to model transient conformations that may be difficult to structurally characterize using other methods.
